Amanda Lodi - Pursuing Studies in Biology in Massachusetts
Amanda Lodi is a University of Massachusetts Boston undergraduate working toward a bachelor’s degree in biology. Combining a consistent work ethic and a passion for science, Amanda Lodi is also a fitness enthusiast and certified National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Sports Nutrition Coach.
Ms. Lodi previously attended Norwich University, where she served as the junior captain of the women's rugby team during the Fall 2020 15s season. Even after sustaining a career ending knee injury in October 2021, she stayed involved as a mentor and helped guide the new generation of players on NUWRFC for the rest of her time at Norwich. Under the coach’s supervision, she guided a full practice as a student coach in 2021. Active in the NU Corps of Cadets, she earned the Cadet of the Month and Good Conduct Ribbon Awards for her efforts. She was also a member of the Army ROTC Battalion where she held various leadership positions, and was an Honor Graduate of the Future Leadership Program at Norwich University.
Ms. Lodi’s experience includes a role as a Specimen Technician with Quest Diagnostics during the COVID- 19 pandemic. She matched and identified more than 70 specimen types and ensured the accurate labeling of microbiology, blood, and COVID-19 samples. Excelling at laboratory sanitization and cleanliness, Ms. Lodi was one of the youngest workers in the specimen processing department and received additional training on refrigerated samples and more complex requisition processing.
